About the team

Who are we?

We are a group of Research Software Engineers dedicated to supporting and accelerating cancer research at the Institute of Cancer Research. Combining expertise in software development, bioinformatics, and data science, we hope to help support researchers in their work.

What do we do?

  • Develop and maintain research software:
    From data analysis pipelines to web applications, we create tools that streamline workflows and ensure reproducible results.

  • Provide technical support and training:
    Offering hands-on courses (Carpentries), pipeline support, code reviews, and more to empower scientists in writing, optimising, and sharing their own software.

  • Enable high-performance computing (HPC):
    We help researchers write scripts to run on HPC, whether it's helping with resource allocation or writing automated bash scripts.

  • Foster best practices:
    Through version control, continuous integration, and documentation, we promote sustainable software development and seamless collaboration across teams.
