Rachel Alcraft, RSE Manager

Rachel joined the ICR in May 2023. She has been a software engineer for many years, initially in industry, and along the way have also been a secondary school maths teacher and picked up MSc's in both Software Development and Bioinformatics. Rachel moved to the academic world just after covid with an RSE position at UCL where she worked primarily for a computational cancer lab.

Mira Sarkis (PhD), RSE

Mira Sarkis joined the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) in September 2024 as a Research Software Engineer. Prior to this, she was a RSE at the CNRS Astrophysics Laboratory of Marseille. She holds a PhD in Computer Science and Telecommunications from Telecom ParisTech. Additionally, she earned an engineering degree in Networks and Telecommunications. Her interdisciplinary background bridges scientific computing and engineering, and she is particularly interested in enabling reproducible and scalable research through robust software practices.

Stacy Shcherbakova, RSE

Stacy joined the team in October 2024 after finishing her MSc in Computer Science. Having been involved in mainly computation biology projects, she is passionate about developing software that facilitates research.
